Family run Carlisle Hotel with foundations on Hadrians Wall Rachel & Martin welcome you to a relaxing stay at their family run hotel in Carlisle where guests will be assured of a warm, friendly reception. We offer very comfortable Carlisle bed and breakfast accommodation with all our rooms being recently decorated, new flat screen tv’s, free wifi access and refurbished en-suite bathrooms. This large 13 bedroom Victorian town house was built in 1850’s and is situated in the Stanwix part of Carlisle where the Romans had a command headquarters for 1,000 cavalry, so we literally have our foundations on Hadrian’s Wall. We are ideally located just 10 minutes walk to Carlisle city centre and 5 minutes walk to the Sands Centre for popular theatre and concerts. A short 5 minute taxi ride from Carlisle Railway Station, and conveniently located for Cumbria University Brampton Road Campus and Kingstown Business Park. The Angus is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful English Lake District, Eden Valley, Scottish Borders, Carlisle to Settle Railway, Carlisle Golf Course, Hadrian’s Wall Coast to Coast trail and the Reivers Cycle Route. Walking, cycling and golfing groups are very welcome. Our tariff is based on bed and breakfast ( B&B ) with the option of an evening meal in Almonds restaurant. Packed lunches are also available for your onward journey. Seasonal short break offers are available for those wanting to stay longer & take advantage of what Carlisle and the Lake District have to offer. Almonds, is our informal licensed restaurant open to residents and non residents for evening meals. All our food is freshly prepared including our home baked bread, chutneys and desserts. We cook everything fresh to order and use local quality suppliers. For larger parties we offer special menus and can cater up to 30 people (sitting) & 50 people (buffet).
